Even without user testing, it was evident that our previous donate page was underperforming, and didn't effectively communicate trust, the effectiveness of our work, or how one's money would be used.
After agreeing as team on the shortcomings of our current donate page, we started on new design and copy. In the short timespan of about 2 weeks, I worked with our Marketing Director and engineering team to design a number of options and refine them down to a testable protoype.
Thanks to the rapid response times through UserTesting.com, I was able to quickly iterate on this page. After a benchmark and 3 rounds of testing I felt confident that we were releasing a page that produced more trust, confidence and understanding for the user, and thus would provide us with more conversions.
In many situations I put a lot of time into refining user feedback and making detailed reports. However, some situations require a quicker turnaround. I can adapt my work to either situation, and have the experience to identify when it's necessary to slow down.
Early results indicate an increase of conversion rate from social media of 2% to 13%.
